Raptors and Zoonotic Infections

This session will explore emerging zoonotic infections
of raptors, primarily in North America, focusing on risks to raptors and
handlers. Specific diseases (e.g. West Nile virus, avian influenza
viruses, Mycobacterium avium, Aspergillus fumigatus, etc.) will be
explored as well as surveillance strategies that benefit both raptor
populations and public health.
The session will occur on Friday 24 September and is
being organized by Nick Komar (Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention).
